Recovery
Breast augmentation with fat transfer is performed using general anesthesia. The procedure takes between 1 ½ – 2 hours. You will wake up wearing light dressings on your breasts. You will also have a compression garment around the area where liposuction was performed. After being carefully monitored following the surgery, you will be allowed to go home the same day.
Tight bras and undergarments should not be worn on the breasts during the first six weeks following surgery. You must wear compression garments on your donor sites for a specified time and avoid sleeping on your stomach for six weeks following surgery. Patients generally return to work within several days, but you will need to focus on recovery. The final results of the surgery are evident after 3 to 6 months.
