What is Radiesse?

Radiesse Injectable Filler

Patient had Radiesse Injectable filler to fill in her nasolabial folds along the side of her mouth, as well as her chin.

Radiesse Injectable Filler is a revolutionary injectable filler, approved by the FDA for cosmetic use in treating facial volume loss such as nasolabial folds. It is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in aqueous (containing water) carrier gel. The calcium microspheres are similar to minerals occurring naturally in the body. When injected into the skin, Radiesse adds volume and provides correction immediately, and also stimulates production of the body’s own collagen. Results last up to one year in many people.

This filler is completely biocompatible and biodegradable. Over time, the body absorbs the gel and metabolizes the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, leaving only your own natural collagen behind. It takes longer for Radiesse to break down than most hyaluronic acid fillers.

Where Can Radiesse Be Used?

Radiesse Injectable Filler is one of Dr. George Solomon’s favorite fillers and he recommends it to most of his patients. It is one of the thickest dermal fillers and provides the greatest amount of lift when injected. This makes it an ideal injectable product for lifting the tip of the nose, augmenting the chin, or filling in the cheeks. It is the perfect choice for treating areas such as the chin, nose, jawline, and cheekbones, where more definition is preferred.

Radiesse Injectable Filler acts as a scaffolding under the skin to give it structure and prevent sagging. This volumizing filler can be injected in these and other areas:

  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth)
  • Marionette lines (running from the corners of the mouth downward)
  • Oral commissures (corners of the mouth)
  • Pre-jowl folds (on the sides of the chin where the skin can sag with loss of facial volume)
  • Chin lines (horizontal wrinkles that form on the chin)
  • Backs of the hands (to restore volume)

Radiesse Injectable Filler is the Most Versatile for Lifting and Rejuvenation

Dermal fillers come in many forms, but rarely is there one as versatile and effective as RADIESSE, a collagen stimulating filler which not only lifts skin and replaces lost volume, but also improves skin texture and elasticity.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, RADIESSE works by stimulating your body to produce collagen. It is made of Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres (25 µm to 45 µm) suspended in an aqueous gel carrier of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). When injected, it immediately adds volume to deficient areas and contour facial features.

Dr. George Solomon or his nurse injector can both offer Radiesse injections to areas of the face that you desire more fullness as well as rejuvenation of the skin. They both feel is the most cost effective filler for patients, as it not only lifts more than HA fillers with the same amount of product, but also improves the skin through collagen production.  No other filler does so much for the same price.
